FlowZone: the zone of optimal experience created by effortless immersion, focus, and involvement.
about me, my journey, and the flowzone
My Ethos
i strive to inspire performance & longevity in the mountains
That zone is what I am all about. I combine the principles of strength and conditioning with the physical demands of mountain sports to help athletes train for both performance and longevity in their sports. I can’t take the bombhole out of the landing or the rut out of the “perfect corner” that pulls your front tire astray. What I can do is increase your confidence that you can handle these curveballs. By following a proper strength and conditioning program designed for mountain sports athletes, you can feel confident and capable in your body’s physical capabilities so you can focus on the true task at hand — entering the FlowZone.
Mountain sports are fun, but risky. They require lots of decision making, skill, focus, and strength. With the perfect combo, you can enter an almost timeless state. Every move feels effortless, every decision ending just how you imagined. I call this the FlowZone. The FlowZone is the zone you enter when you have the perfect blend of confidence and nerves in a given situation. Time seems to slow down and you can almost predict things as they unfold in front of you, yet somehow, time passes faster than normal. The zone of optimal experience.
Coach Jess
Hi all, I am Jess, the owner and athlete behind FlowZone Performance Coaching, but also avid skier, mountain biker, trail runner, weightlifter, and bagel eater. Gotta fuel the fun somehow.
As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with a B.S. in Exercise Science, I apply my knowledge to train outdoor sports athletes to feel stronger and more confident in the mountains. With proper strength and power development, mountain sports athletes of all disciplines are able to focus less on their physical capabilities and more on the task at hand, whether that be hitting a new cliff, throwing a new trick, or crushing the whole enchilada.
